We Are All Phoenixes Rising From The Ashes
Are you still tapping your toes and smiling from this past Sunday? If you were with us at Hank Dietle’s Tavern, I bet you are!
MUSIC BENEFIT
Friends old and new gathered in the cozy rebuilt Hank Dietle’s Tavern for The Dwelling Place’s first fundraising benefit since 2019; and the first-ever music benefit we have done! In 2018, The Tavern experienced a devastating fire, and with the help of many friends rebuilt a couple years later. They reopened in the spring of 2021. HDT truly rose from the ashes and continues to rebuild after a difficult time for all small businesses which makes their generosity in donating their space for our fundraiser quite significant. It was a great pleasure partnering with them and we look forward to more events in the future! We greatly appreciate their generosity!
Like music venues, musicians faced many challenges during the pandemic, and are finally rising beyond it. On Sunday, the amazing Dave Chappell Band (featuring Dave Chappell, Bruce Swaim, John Previti and Pete Ragusa) generously gave us their time and their talents! Truly music royalty in this area, they are rising from the pandemic’s ashes to perform live as music venues reopen and welcome patrons once again. TDP is incredibly fortunate to be the recipients of their time and talents! And yes, the dance floor was jammed!
Not only did we enjoy an afternoon of incredible music, but we also formed new friendships and made important connections. It was here that Executive Director, Dana Macena, met for the first time a longtime donor to TDP! Several fans of the band and Hank Dietle’s regulars visited our information table, allowing us to share the important work being done at TDP and to ask for help as we work to strengthen the foundation of our organization post-pandemic. It is no secret that the pandemic hit all non-profits hard, and TDP’s experience was no different. We know the importance of not just financial but also mental, emotional, and academic support to the families we serve. Each day, these families continue to put one foot in front of the other as they do the hard work towards building stable lives. With renewed funding, we will be better positioned to help them do so.
The fundraiser also provided a fantastic opportunity for our newest board members to meet staff and each for the first time face to face! We all are called to envision a Montgomery County where every family has a place to call home.
Thank You, Hank Dietle’s Tavern, the Dave Chappell Band, and our Volunteers and Staff for making this such a successful event.
Let’s keep rising! Stay tuned for information about our upcoming Spring fundraisers!
