Because Of You, We Are Grateful
The Dwelling Place is a special place. It is really hard to define the gem that is this organization without sharing the adventures we endure.
Given the current state of our country and the global health crisis, we are not exempt from the path of this current virus. However, we are learning to evolve, stay resilient, and be grateful. Much of the same teachings, we teach our families.
Some of our working parents were laid off from there jobs. Many are facing challenges helping their children with distance learning. Some are grieving the loss of family members. And, all of our families have been impacted by the current pandemic as their emotional and financial stability have been in question. The challenges they endured before the pandemic are now compounded by this health crisis.
Their Constant
The one constant in their life right now is the support they receive from The Dwelling Place.
As an organization we pride ourselves on being the support system that many of our families have been searching for. We lay the foundation, provide the walls and the roof for them to feel secure, so they can feel confident to grow free from fear; knowing that their housing is stable is a burden resolved.
The Work
Our goal is to ensure that their progress is not reversed.
Because we have received donations from organizations, churches, businesses, foundations and individuals:
-
-
- Our families received extraordinary support from our case managers to ensure they were receiving all of the financial benefits and relief available to them
- 25 produce boxes, over 200 jugs of milk, 100 packages of meat, 50 packages of pasta and 100 boxes of cereal were delivered to families in need
- 15 laptops and workstations, and 32 Kindles has kept our families in communication with the world beyond their front door
- And, we made sure that all of our families were protected with face masks, hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies. We even risked being viewed as toilet paper and paper towel hoarders to ensure our families had enough.
-
Yet, all of these things would not have been made possible without community support.
Our Constant
From all of the donations and financial support over the last 9 months of this pandemic to those of you participating in our holiday giving events today— because of you, we are grateful!
